The system of conformity assessment for products with radio applications in Colombia accepts the submission of test reports according to European or US standards in order to enable smooth market access. We work directly with the local telecommunications authority CRC (Comisión de Regulación de Comunicaciones) in Bogotá to submit the applications. In the case of SRD (Short Range Devices), CRC usually issues a confirmation that the product is exempt from the homologation obligation. However, this only happens after the submitted technical documents have been checked and evaluated. In order to obtain written proof of conformity, we strongly recommend this procedure to obtain safety for the customers. For approval in Colombia, you should expect a runtime of about four weeks after appropriate preparation. The homologation process at CRC in Colombia does not require local laboratory testing. Certificates issued by the CRC regulatory authority in Bogotá are valid indefinitely, minimizing the manufacturer's effort to maintain compliance of its radio throughout the product lifecycle in Colombia.
