FCC Mandates Hearing Aid Compatibility for All Mobile Phones
On October 17, 2024, the Federal Communications Commission adopted new rules requiring all mobile handsets to be compatible with hearing aids.
The FCC has released Order FCC 24-112, which mandates that all mobile phones are to be compatible with hearing aids.
Key updates also include a requirement for Bluetooth coupling, enhancing the connectivity between mobile phones and hearing aids.
The FCC has outlined transitional implementation periods for all of the new requirements.
