Type approval procedures in Botswana are regulated by the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA). The conformity requirements are basically identical to those of the European Union and the Declaration of conformity according to EU directive 2014/53/EU. We are supported by a local partner who works directly with the authority in Gaborone, allowing certificates to be acquired within a short processing time. The homologation process in Botswana does not require local laboratory testing or contact with local representatives. However, a product sample can be requested from the authority for viewing. Certificates have an unlimited validity period and approved products are subject to mandatory labeling.
