Conformity assessment in the Republic of Fiji is based on the American FCC standards and European (EU) Conformity Standards. The Telecommunication Authority of Fiji situated in the capital Suva is the responsible jurisdiction which manages the process of examination of documentation and issuance of conformity certificates which are the two mandatory parts of the local conformity assessment scheme. The homologation procedure in Fiji requires neither any local laboratory testing nor local representative contact. Certificates have an unlimited validity period that minimizes efforts of the manufacturer in getting a certificate of conformity. There are also no additional requirements regarding product labeling.
