INDOTEL announced they are considering to update the 915–928 MHz frequency band regulations for low-power equipment and ISM devices on 1. July.

The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) announced on July 1 that it is considering formalizing technical and operational requirements for low-power equipment, as well as for industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) applications operating within the 915–928 MHz frequency band.

As the new National Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF), approved by Decree No. 99-26, designated this band for low-power and ISM applications, the institute now seeks to establish clear technical and operational conditions under a generic license regime and to align with international standards.

Three implementation options are under consideration, although INDOTEL has not yet definitively confirmed its final decision. Interested stakeholders should await the formal resolution for definitive requirements.

  • Option 1: Keep the status quo.

  • Option 2: Adopt a dedicated resolution for the 915–928 MHz band, including the specific frequency band, use cases, and limits and conditions.

  • Option 3: Update the general regulations, including other frequency bands and uses.
