Dominican Republic: INDOTEL Finalizes 915–928 MHz Rules for Low-Power Devices
Following our news of July 21, 2026, the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) has finalized its rules for low-power devices used for IoT, RFID, telemetry, and smart metering in the 915–928 MHz band. On August 27, 2026, INDOTEL adopted Resolution No. 074-2026, consistent with the country’s current Frequency Allocation Plan (PNAF).
The Resolution sets maximum permitted EIRP levels according to the equipment category and transmission technology:

Equipment operating above 100 mW EIRP must incorporate mechanisms supporting coexistence and efficient spectrum use. Frequency-hopping systems must use at least 20 hopping frequencies, while digital modulation systems are limited to a peak radiated power spectral density of 25 mW per 3 kHz.
Operating frequencies must remain within the 915–928 MHz band. Without prejudice to the RFID-specific limits, all equipment must also comply with the unwanted and spurious emission limits of the applicable technical standard.
Type approval by INDOTEL remains mandatory for market access.
