New BSMI Instruction Guidelines in Effect
BSMI updates Instruction Guidelines for the Type Approval of Electrical and Electronic Products.
The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) published updated Instruction Guidelines for the Type Approval of Electrical and Electronic Products on May 20, 2026.
All minor and procedural changes listed in the comparison table are effective immediately. The most significant revision introduces new cyber security requirements that are scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2028.
The new cyber security requirements specifically target electric-vehicle charging equipment, power conversion systems, solar energy inverters, and stationary lithium energy storage devices.
