Malaysia: Updated Technical Codes Take Effect on November 5, 2026
Following the previous announcement of June 25, 2026, Malaysia’s Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) technical codes MCMC MTSFB TC T022:2026 (Communications Equipment: Baseline Requirements) and MCMC MTSFB TC T007:2026 (Short Range Devices – Specifications, Third Revision) take effect on November 5, 2026.
Under the updated requirements, EMC compliance for applicable communications equipment covers both emissions and immunity. The applicable requirements depend on how the equipment connects to the network.
Directly Connected Equipment
Devices that connect directly to a Network Service Provider (NSP) without intermediary technology
Examples include mobile phones, routers, and some car infotainment systems
Both EMC emission and immunity requirements apply
Renewals may be processed through a Parallel by Comparison (PBC) application to demonstrate compliance with immunity requirements
Non-Directly Connected Equipment
Devices using intermediary technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, UWB, or wireless charging
These devices are exempt from EMC certification and the associated EMC requirements
The applicable technical code is updated automatically during the standard renewal process
