Papua New Guinea: NICTA Limits Type Approval Certificate Validity

The National Information and Communications Technology Authority (NICTA) has revised its type approval framework. All certificates—new and existing—are now limited to a maximum validity of three years. Certificates issued before 2022 are no longer valid and must be renewed.

  Newly issued certificates are now limited to a 3-year validity period.

• Retroactive effect:
  All certificates issued before 2022 are considered expired and must be renewed.

  You can check how your certificate is affected by consulting the official NICTA certificate database.

• Digital application process:
  New type approval submissions can now be made directly via the NICTA Type Approval Platform. This may help reduce processing time. According to NICTA, processing may take up to 10 days.
