Thailand Opens Public Consultations on Radar Equipment
Thailand’s National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is conducting a public consultation with stakeholders and the general public on five draft announcements addressing the use of radio frequencies for radar communication equipment and related technical standards.
The draft announcements include revised licensing guidelines intended to expand the scope of radar applications beyond vehicle installations. The expanded scope covers unrestricted radar systems and radar systems for land traffic and transportation.
The proposed updates include increased transmission power authorization for the 24.05–24.25 GHz band, new general use approval for the 57–64 GHz band, and corresponding technical standards to support the expanded radar applications.
Stakeholders may submit written comments by email to spectrum@nbtc.go.th between May 4 and July 3, 2026.
