TRC Reduces Type Approval Certificate Validity

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) of Jordan has shortened certificate validity and updated labelling requirements.

Changes to Type Approval Certificates by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC):

Validity Period: New type approval certificates are now valid for one year, reduced from the previous three-year term.
Renewals: Renewals will also be valid for one year and can be requested up to three months before the expiration date.
Labeling Requirements:
- Labels may be applied either physically or electronically.
- Essential information must include the manufacturer's name, brand, model, and marketing name (IMEI for cellular products).
Exempted Products: The list of exempted products has been refined to include specific categories, such as printers, photocopiers, and corded phones without radio capabilities.
Reporting Changes: All changes to product details must be reported to the TRC.
