ANRT Updates Type Approval: Labeling & SAR Rules
The National Agency for Telecommunications Regulation (ANRT) of Morocco has issued a new Type Approval Decision introducing key regulatory updates.
Key Changes:
1. Updated Labeling Requirements
The label must be affixed in a visible, legible, and indelible manner on the equipment itself.
If this is not feasible due to size constraints, the label may instead be placed on accompanying documents, packaging, or displayed as an electronic label that is easily accessible.
The design of the updated label can be viewed below.
2. Mandatory Display of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Values
The regulation requires SAR values to be displayed on specific device types, including but not limited to:
Mobile phones
Smartphones
Tablets with SIM, eSIM, and/or Wi-Fi
Smartwatches with integrated SIM and/or eSIM
Cellular routers and modems
Walkie-talkies
Laptops with SIM, eSIM, and/or Wi-Fi
DECT or cordless phones
This requirement will take effect on May 1, 2025. The full regulation is available here (Arabic only).
