ANRT Updates Type Approval: Labeling & SAR Rules

2025-01-31
On January 20, 2025, the ANRT released a new Type Approval Decision, introducing new label details and SAR display requirements.

The National Agency for Telecommunications Regulation (ANRT) of Morocco has issued a new Type Approval Decision introducing key regulatory updates.

Key Changes:

1. Updated Labeling Requirements

  • The label must be affixed in a visible, legible, and indelible manner on the equipment itself.

  • If this is not feasible due to size constraints, the label may instead be placed on accompanying documents, packaging, or displayed as an electronic label that is easily accessible.

  • The design of the updated label can be viewed below.

2. Mandatory Display of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) Values

  • The regulation requires SAR values to be displayed on specific device types, including but not limited to:

    • Mobile phones

    • Smartphones

    • Tablets with SIM, eSIM, and/or Wi-Fi

    • Smartwatches with integrated SIM and/or eSIM

    • Cellular routers and modems

    • Walkie-talkies

    • Laptops with SIM, eSIM, and/or Wi-Fi

    • DECT or cordless phones

This requirement will take effect on May 1, 2025. The full regulation is available here (Arabic only).
