IoT Cybersecurity Certification
From 2025, new EU regulations will tighten the cybersecurity requirements for the Internet of Things. Our specialized certification services enable manufacturers and providers to proactively meet the upcoming IT security standards and minimize market risks.Certification and IoT Device Security
Smart home applications and wireless technologies such as WLAN, Bluetooth and Zigbee make networking easier, but also create potential vulnerabilities. Our customized certification services ensure that your IoT products meet the latest security standards and that vulnerabilities are detected at an early stage.
Our Certification Program:
Security assessments: We identify security vulnerabilities in IoT devices and advise you on how to ensure comprehensive protection against cyber attacks.
Product certification: Certifications according to international IT security standards strengthen the marketability of your smart devices and increase customer trust.
Optimization consulting: Individual recommendations for improving IoT security ensure that your products always meet the latest requirements.
Security Standards for IoT Products
The security and compliance of your IoT solutions are crucial to meeting the growing demands of the market. That is why we offer comprehensive certifications that are aligned with the latest European standards and regulations.

Regulatory Developments and Future Requirements
The basis for cybersecurity in the area of radio devices is based on the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU, which came into force in 2016. An extension was made by the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30 in October 2021. The entry into force of the cybersecurity requirements was postponed from the originally set August 1, 2024 to August 1, 2025.
In parallel to regulatory developments, standardization bodies are working on technical standards. ETSI published the standard EN 303 645 for IoT devices (BSI website) as early as 2020. CENELEC is currently developing the three-part standard EN 18031, which deals with the security of internet-connected radio devices, data-processing radio devices and devices for processing virtual currencies.
A draft of EN 18031 has been available from DINMEDIA since June 2024. CENELEC has set the preliminary publication date as February 28, 2025. Companies in the radio equipment sector should monitor these developments and prepare for the upcoming requirements.
