Authority allows Wi-Fi 6E and 24 GHz radars
The Moroccan National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) published a new decision on Short Range Devices (SRD) on 7th May 2021.
The new decsion ANRT/DG/N° 07/21 allows Wi-Fi 6E devices. Besides the introduction of Wi-Fi 6E, the 24 GHz band is made available for omnidirectional radars of obstacle detection and motion detection radars. The decision comes into effect starting June.
1. Introduction of Wi-Fi 6E:
Frequency bands: 5925 - 6425 MHz
Max output power: 200 mW EIRP
Special conditions: This band is intended for indoor use only. Use inside vehicles is not permitted.
Frequency bands: 5925 - 6425 MHz
Max output power: 25 mW EIRP
Special conditions: This band can also be used by portable devices (smartphones, connected objects, etc.) for indoor and / or outdoor use. These uses not permitted in unmanned flying devices.
2. Extension of the scope of use of the band 24,00 - 24,25 GHz to cover omnidirectional obstacle detection radars and motion detection radars.
Frequency bands: 24,00 - 24,25 GHz
Max output power: 100 mW EIRP
Special conditions: This band is intended for omnidirectional obstacle detection radars and motion detection radars.
Further changes on the use of SRD can be found here in the full decision.
