Mauritius
, 2018-01-02
In Mauritius ICTA has introduced two new directives. Both directives easen the import mainly of smartphones but the second effectively nullifies the need for type approval of BT and WiFi devices:
6.9 No Type Approval from the Authority is required for the importation and sale of devices equipped only with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth® as exemplified below –
Application | Devices equipped with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth® |
Automotive | Car infotainment systems |
Consumer Electronics | Television set, CD/DVD players, Washing Machines, Refrigerators, Cameras, Home entertainment systems, Household appliances |
PC Peripherals | Wireless Mouse, Keyboard, Touchpad, Microphone, Speaker, Printer/Scanner |
Sports & Fitness | Sport equipment |
However, devices still need to be compliant with ICTA's requirements.
