In Mauritius ICTA has introduced two new directives. Both directives easen the import mainly of smartphones but the second effectively nullifies the need for type approval of BT and WiFi devices:

6.9 No Type Approval from the Authority is required for the importation and sale of devices equipped only with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth® as exemplified below –

Application Devices equipped with Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth®
Automotive Car infotainment systems
Consumer Electronics

Television set, CD/DVD players, Washing Machines, Refrigerators, Cameras, Home entertainment systems, Household appliances

PC Peripherals Wireless Mouse, Keyboard, Touchpad, Microphone, Speaker, Printer/Scanner
Sports & Fitness Sport equipment

However, devices still need to be compliant with ICTA's requirements.
