The updated National Frequency Allocation Plan (TASFRI) aligns national standards with ITU WRC-23 regulations.

Indonesia issued Ministry of Communication and Digital Regulation No. 8 of 2026, updating the National Frequency Allocation Plan (TASFRI). The regulation supersedes the prior 2022 frequency allocation framework.

The updated TASFRI aligns national standards with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) WRC-23 regulations and serves as the governing authority for frequency assignments and device type approval.

Strategic spectrum allocations under the updated plan include:

  • the 700 MHz range, 694–806 MHz, designated for International Mobile Telecommunications (IMT);

  • the 1427–1518 MHz band allocated for mobile and broadband wireless access; and

  • the 24.25–27.5 GHz spectrum allocated for high-capacity 5G applications.

The updated plan also includes provisions for unlicensed spectrum. The 6 GHz band, 6425–7125 MHz, is included for Wireless Access Systems. The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands retain their existing class licensing provisions for Wi-Fi equipment.
