On April 4, 2025, the National Communications Authority (NCA) of Ghana published an updated National Frequency Allocation Table (NFAT).

The revised NFAT defines the allocation of frequency bands across all radio services in Ghana and provides the national framework for frequency assignments. It incorporates both domestic licensing decisions and international provisions based on ITU Radio Regulations and outcomes from recent World Radiocommunication Conferences (WRC).

Key aspects:

  • Defines band usage and allocation across radio services in Ghana

  • Incorporates relevant ITU footnotes applicable to local services

  • Clarifies that national provisions take precedence over international ones when they differ

  • Use of radio equipment remains subject to national licensing requirements
