Following up on Act No. 4776 issued September 1st, 2020 the regulatory authority in Brazil, ANATEL, updated power limits for WiFi equipment, the updated values are identified under pragraph 11.2

Here is an excerpt from the published document:

11. BROADBAND WIRELESS ACCESS SYSTEM FOR LOCAL NETWORKS

11.1 Wireless Broadband Access System for Local Area Networks operating in the 5.150-5.350 MHz and 5.470-5.725 MHz bands must meet the following conditions:

11.1.1. Equipment operating in the 5.150-5.350 MHz band must be used indoors .

11.1.1.1. For the purposes of this document, an indoor environment is considered to be one capable of producing attenuation by penetrating buildings in order to allow the emission levels of a transmitter to be degraded in different directions.

11.2. Wireless Broadband Access System for Local Area Networks, operating in the 5.150–5.350 MHz band, must meet the following conditions:

11.2.1. The average value of the conducted power is limited to the maximum value of 1 W in the range 5.150-5.250 MHz and to 250 mW in the range of 5.250-5.350 MHz, if the maximum gain of the antenna does not exceed 6 dBi.

11.2.2. The average value of the EIRP spectral density is limited to a maximum of 50 mW / MHz.

[...]

11.5. Systems operating in accordance with sub-items 11.2  and 11.3, must have a transmission power control mechanism ( Transmit Power Control  - TPC) that allows the selection of transmission power and ensures a mitigation factor of at least 3 dB.

11.5.1. Exceptionally, the use of equipment without the TPC mechanism will be allowed. In this case, the average value of the EIRP power must be limited to the maximum allowed value, conducted or radiated, reduced by at least 3 dB for equipment operating in the 5.150-5.350 MHz and 5.470-5.725 MHz bands.
