South Korea: Regulation Update on USB Type-C Connector Requirements
A new regulation for USB Type-C connectors has been announced for the Korean market. The notice establishes technical standards for charging and data transmission methods for broadcasting and telecommunications equipment, with the aim of preventing resource waste and ensuring consumer convenience, in accordance with Article 28, Paragraph 9 of the Framework Act on Broadcasting and Telecommunications Development.
All applicable equipment must be equipped with a USB Type-C receptacle connector as specified in Appendix 1 (7. 단말장치 기기(방송방통설비의 기기)).
Starting November 6, 2026, the following devices require mandatory SDoC (Supplier's Declaration of Conformity) approval based on local testing:

Digital camera
Headphones
Headset
Portable video game console
Portable speaker
E-book reader
Keyboard
Mouse
Portable navigation device
Earphones
