Executive Decree No. 26-97 came into force
Executive Decree No. 26-97 establishing the conditions and procedures for the approval of electronic communications equipment (January 31, 2026), has come into force after being published in the Official Journal of the Algerian Republic No. 13 on February 15, 2026.
This decree introduces new procedures for the homologation of communications equipment subject to type approval in Algeria, enhancing monitoring by the Agence nationale des fréquences (ANF) and the Autorité de régulation de la poste et des communications électroniques (ARPCE).

Extended validity of Certificates of Conformity: The validity of Certificates of Conformity has been extended to five years
Dedicated electronic platform: A new electronic platform has been established to streamline homologation applications and improve handling
Label format: establishing a standardised label format
Applicants are required to continue
Proving compliance with recognized technical standards:
Ensure the use and operation of radio frequencies
Maintain electromagnetic compatibility
Protect electronic communications networks from potential damage
Meet health and environmental protection requirements
Ensure the safety of users and operating personnel
Guarantee interoperability for terminal equipment, stations, or radio installations connected to public electronic communications networks
Providing a sample: At least one working physical sample must be provided. Local testing may be required.
Effect on Current Certificates and Running Applications
New applications: This decree applies to homologation applications submitted after February 15, 2026.
Running applications: Applications submitted before the decree came into force will be processed according to the previous regulations.
Valid certificates: Certificates issued before the publication of this decree remain valid until their expiry date as stated on the certificate.
