NTRA introduces further type approval schemes

In March 2020 we already informed you about the introduction of 2 type approval schemes for applications in Egypt. Recently, the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) introduced 2 additional certification schemes and further clarified the requirements for each scheme:
The light scheme applies for ISO 17025 accredited manufacturers. Provided the manufacturer does not have an ISO 17025 accreditation, the factory location determines which approval scheme should be applied:

| Australia, Canada, Japan, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, USA, Western Europe | Light scheme |
| Any other country, which is not listed | Intermediate scheme |
| China and India | Tight scheme |
| Egypt | Guided scheme |
Please note: While the light and intermediate scheme follow roughly the same procedure, an application following the guided scheme will require a factory inspection of NTRA.
