PTA outlines New Regulations for Telecom Equipment

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has newly issued Draft Regulations for Telecom Equipment Standards 2022. The paper stipulates mandatory testing and describes standards for various telecommunication devices.

Adopting international requirements for telecommunication equipment, the Pakistan Authority lists minimum technical standards, inter alia, the following ones:

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

  • Health and Safety

  • Radio Frequency (RF) Communication

  • Human Exposure

Technical specification for every standard are also delineated in the draft.
