Chile Reminds Industry of Upcoming QR Code Requirements
Following our earlier update on Chile’s QR code obligations for SRD approvals, authorities have issued a reminder of the key measures that will take effect soon. These requirements affect both new approvals and devices already certified.
Key Points
QR code placement
Must appear on product packaging. If this is not feasible, the QR code may be placed on the device or included in printed materials (e.g., user manual).QR code content
Must link to a Spanish-language webpage that follows the mandated format and content rules.Retroactive implementation
Applies to previously certified devices. Products approved from applications filed up to February 21, 2026 may continue using a QR code that links directly to the approval certificate.Public information obligations
Certificate holders must maintain a publicly accessible website containing all required product information.
These modifications will enter into force on February 22, 2026.
