On November 17, 2025, Exempt Resolution 2219/2025 was issued, confirming the previously announced updates to Exempt Resolution 1985/2017.

Following our earlier update on Chile’s QR code obligations for SRD approvals, authorities have issued a reminder of the key measures that will take effect soon. These requirements affect both new approvals and devices already certified.

Key Points

  • QR code placement
Must appear on product packaging. If this is not feasible, the QR code may be placed on the device or included in printed materials (e.g., user manual).

  • QR code content
Must link to a Spanish-language webpage that follows the mandated format and content rules.

  • Retroactive implementation
Applies to previously certified devices. Products approved from applications filed up to February 21, 2026 may continue using a QR code that links directly to the approval certificate.

  • Public information obligations
Certificate holders must maintain a publicly accessible website containing all required product information.

These modifications will enter into force on February 22, 2026.
