OFCA Updates Performance Specifications
On 18 March 2026, the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) issued updated performance specifications for HKCA 1078 and HKCA 1049.
HKCA 1078 (Issue 2) replaces the December 2017 version
Scope expanded to cover the 920–925 MHz band and public telecommunications equipment
HKCA 1049 (Issue 2) replaces the April 2005 version
Applies to RFID equipment in 865–868 MHz and/or 920–925 MHz bands
Technical changes
Removal of standalone requirements for electrical safety and radiation protection
Focus on supplementary technical requirements
Updated referenced standards
Introduction of clauses for evaluation and reference procedures
Compliance notes
Manufacturers should verify continued compliance with updated specifications
Changes may affect certification processes and documentation
