RRA Issues Notice On Priority Amendment of 5G NR
Significant changes are introduced for 5G NR communication equipment, while keeping existing LTE band availability
The Korea Radio Research Agency (RRA) issued a priority notice on amended conductivity test methods for 5G NR communication equipment subject to KS X 3270 on 21. July 2026. The revision introduces significant changes to 5G NR specifications while maintaining existing LTE band configurations.
The updated notification expands 5G NR frequency support from two bands to six bands, adding n1, n3, n5, and n7.
Additionally, 5G NR will now support both Time Division Duplex (TDD) and Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) communication methods, whereas previously only TDD was permitted.
The revised requirements take effect from July 24, 2026.
