Certification of 6 GHz frequency band for Wi-Fi prohibited
Malaysian authority SIRIM QAS International announced that currently, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is checking the possible use of 6 GHz frequency band for Wi-Fi.
The applicant for type approval must ensure that the 6 GHz frequency is disabled on devices supporting this frequency prior to application, which is verified by the SIRIM RF & EMCT laboratory.
The approval and import of equipment operating in the 6 GHz frequency band is also prohibited for the time being, provided it has a Special Approval (Company and Individual (SA & CL)).
