Self-Declaration for some wireless equipment
The WPC (Wireless Planning Coordination), of India, has lately released on the gazette from 23th of February a new policy for ETA (Equipment Type Approval) through Self-Declaration Scheme, WPC Approval is a mandatory requirement for all wireless radio modules (Transceivers, Transmitters and Receivers).
The categories for wireless equipment in license exempted bands:
Smart Phones, mobile handsets, notepads, laptops, smart watches, short range devices (including accessories, microphones, speakers, headphones, earphones, printers, scanners, cameras) etc. which operate in license exempted bands as per Indian National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP).
