New requirements for mobile phones
TRA - Telecommunication Regulatory Authority in UAE has introduced a new Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) feature - a new requirement applicable to all mobile phones sold in UAE.
As of August 15th, 2019, CNAP applies to both new devices and mobile phones already on the UAE market. Please note that phones, even those already approved and operating in UAE will need to meet the new requirement.
The Technical Specifications listed below published by 3GPP and ETSI illustrate the technical and behavioral aspects of mobile phones in order to present CNAP. The following requirements must be met:
