Deregulation of wireless remote controls ≤ 1 mW
On the occasion of their 924th meeting on 2020-08-26, the National Communications Commission (NCC) reviewed and approved the draft announcement “應經核准之電信管制射頻器材”.
The Telecommunications Regulatory Act specifies that RF equipment may be freely circulated and used unless otherwise specified by law. In order to comply with the free circulation and use of Article 65 of the Telecommunications Regulation Act which took effect on July 1st, 2020, NCC considered to deregulate wireless remote controls with a maximum RF output power of less than 1 mW.
However, NCC emphasizes that the deregulated equipment should still comply with the technical specifications of low-power radio frequency equipment.
In July, 1st 2020, The National Communications Commission NCC issued the document 低功率射頻器材技術規範 Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Regulations updating the technical regulations from January, 2018. There were no noteable changes on the testing part.
According to LP0002 §3.8.2 a new warning statement became mandatory for new applications from July, 1st onwards.
Lately, the English version has also been published on NCC's official website.
From 2018-04-04 until 2018-04-06 there are national holidays in Taiwan. Type approval certification delays might occur.
Simplified Approval Procedure for Bluetooth Devices
Taiwan’s National Communication Commission (NCC) officially announced that a simplified Declaration of Conformity (DoC) scheme will be adopted effective July 1, 2017 to regulate the following list of Bluetooth Devices:
Bluetooth Selfie Stick
Bluetooth Stylus Pen
Bluetooth Speaker, only D.C. powered
Under the new DoC scheme, the approval process will not require local testing as FCC test reports can be leveraged.
The Type A electrical plug (or flat blade attachment plug) is an ungrounded plug with two flat parallel pins. Although the American and Japanese plugs appear identical, the neutral pin on the American plug is wider than the live pin, whereas on the Japanese plug both pins are the same size. As a result, Japanese plugs can be used in the US but often not the other way around. The pins on Type A and Type B plugs have a hole near the tip that fits into ‘bumps’ found on the contact wipers of some sockets, so that the pins are gripped more tightly allowing for better contact and also to prevent the plug from slipping out of the socket. Some sockets have spring-action blades that grip the sides of the pins, making the holes obsolete.
The Type B electrical plug has two flat parallel pins and a round grounding (or earth) pin. The earth pin is longer than the other two so that the device is grounded before the power is connected. As with the type A plugs, the American and Japanese versions vary slightly. Type B plugs are rated at 15 amps.
