The Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) has just published the Circular 11/2020/TT-BTTTT which replaces Circular 05/2019/TT-BTTTT. This new Circular will take effect from July 01, 2020.

New Vietnamese Telecommunications Standards Update

Key changes in the new Circular:

  • RF EMC Standard Update: QCVN 86:2019/BTTTT replaces QCVN 86:2015/BTTTT and QCVN 18:2014/BTTTT for 2G/3G/4G devices

  • 5G Standards: Implementation standards QCVN 47:2015/BTTTT and QCVN 18:2014/BTTTT

  • Maritime Equipment: QCVN 119:2019/BTTTT applies to navigation and radio communication equipment

  • Short Range Devices moved to Appendix 2 (SDoC mandatory only): wireless chargers, MICS, MITS devices, 60GHz devices, and 24GHz radar devices (excluding road/railway traffic use)

  • Certificate Validity: Existing certificates remain valid until expiration or until new standards become effective
