INDOTEL publishes a new regulation connected to the operating conditions for low and very low power devices in the 5925–7125 MHz frequency range.

Instituto Dominicano de las Telecomunicaciones (INDOTEL) has recently issued Resolution No. 82-2022 describing operating conditions for low and very low power devices in the 5925–7125 MHz frequency range. The Resolution comes into force immediately. The main updates are as follows:

  1. The maximum E.I.R.P. for indoor access points operating in the 5925-7125 MHz frequency band shall not go beyond the limit of 30 dBm.

  2. The maximum E.I.R.P. for very low power (VLP) devices is set as < 14 dBm. The equipment can be also used outdoors.

  3. The maximum E.I.R.P. for equipment operating under the control of an indoor access point (5925–7125 MHz) must not exceed 24 dBm.

  4. Indoor access points and fixed devices operating in the frequency range of 5925–7125 MHz are forbidden for installation in cars, trains, ships, airplanes, or unmanned aircraft. Exceptions: large aircrafts flying above 3000 meters, indoor access points operating in the 5925–6425 MHz frequency band.
