Technical Requirements for CE Marking
The CE marking process in the EU is based on three key directives. Each directive outlines essential requirements for product safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and the use of radio frequencies:
2014/53/EU: Radio Equipment Directive (RED)
This directive ensures that radio equipment is constructed to use the radio spectrum efficiently and avoid harmful interference.
→ Overview of RED Requirements
2014/30/EU: EMC Directive (EMCD)
The EMC Directive sets out the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility of electrical and electronic equipment.
→ Overview of EMC Requirements
2014/35/EU: Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
The LVD defines safety requirements and conformity procedures for electrical equipment within specified voltage limits.
