Japan: Amended Radio Act Enforcement Regulations
The Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) have released an updated version of the Radio Act Enforcement Regulations, Radio Equipment Regulations and Technical Standards Conformity Certification of Specified Radio Equipment in order to extend the UWB wireless system frequency band to 7.25 - 9 GHz for outdoor use.
Further technical conditions to be met by the equipment are:
occupied frequency bandwidth tolerance shall be 1.75 GHz
housing must be designed so that it cannot be easily opened
peak antenna power 0dBm per 50 MHz or less/ average antenna power -41.3 dBm/MHz or less
Technical requirements for millimeter-wave radars in 60 GHz band (57 GHz - 64 GHz):
antenna power: 12dBm or less
EIRP maximum 17 dBm
