WTD 81 Greding: Bundeswehr Test Site Highlights
EMC of Military Systems
A central focus was the site’s EMC Center, which plays a key role in testing the electromagnetic compatibility of military systems. The facility covers a broad frequency range—from 10 kHz to 40 GHz for radiated testing—and is equipped with high-performance amplifiers (up to 10 kW), shielded chambers providing up to 100 dB attenuation, and precision instrumentation for emission and immunity measurements. Demonstrations included field strengths exceeding 600 V/m, showcasing the center’s capability to evaluate mission-critical equipment under extreme electromagnetic conditions.
