Type Approval for Singapore

The IMDA Infocomm Media Development Authority regulates type approvals for radio products in Singapore.

The system of conformity assessment for radio products in Singapore accepts the submission of test reports according to European ETSI standards or US American FCC reports in order to enable smooth market access. IB-Lenhardt AG works directly with the local importers of the radio products in order to submit the applications to the telecommunications authority IMDA Infocomm Media Development Authority. Obtaining the certificates is quick, usually within two weeks, with appropriate preparation. If you cannot name a local importer, it is also possible to get an approval - officially called "Equipment Registration" - through one of our partners in Singapore to prove that your radio product meets local requirements.

The homologation process in Singapore does not require local laboratory testing. The certificates are valid for five years, which minimizes the manufacturer's effort in maintaining the conformity of its wireless product throughout its entire product life cycle in Singapore. The certificate can be renewed no earlier than 30 days before the current certificate expires. There are requirements for the product labeling, the conformity label contains the so-called Dealer Registration Number of the importer, as well as the text "Complies to IMDA Standards".
If you have any questions about the conformity requirements in Asian countries, we are at your disposal.

Our competent and trained team will be happy to help you with product certification and the applicable standards, of course also in Singapore.
