PPM to Hz Converter
Use this tool to convert relative frequency accuracy in ppm or ppb to variation in Hz and calculate the resulting frequency range. The absolute variation scales with the entered base frequency.
Conversion Formula:
- Variation = (Accuracy × Frequency) / Divisor
- Where Divisor is 1,000,000 for PPM or 1,000,000,000 for PPB
- Min Frequency = Base Frequency - Variation
- Max Frequency = Base Frequency + Variation
Calculation Steps:
1. Convert input frequency to Hz
2. Calculate variation using the formula above
3. Calculate min/max by subtracting/adding variation
Reference Points:
-
2.4 GHz with 100 PPM:
- Variation: ±240.0 kHz
- Range: 2.399760 GHz to 2.400240 GHz
-
10 MHz with 5 PPB:
- Variation: ±0.050 Hz
- Range: 9.999999950 MHz to 10.000000050 MHz
This tool helps with:
Determining frequency variation based on accuracy values in PPM or PPB.
Calculating the minimum and maximum frequency based on a given base frequency.
Verifying frequency stability in RF systems.
