BSMI Published Announcement 11530016180

On September 10, 2026, the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) published Announcement No. 11530016180, dated September 8, 2026, amending inspection requirements for battery chargers, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and other products subject to inspection.

The affected product categories include battery chargers, wireless chargers, power supplies for automobile cigarette lighters, power converters, UPS equipment, and other power supply products. The applicable inspection standards and requirements depend on the respective product category and listed commodity classification codes.

For newly included battery chargers, inspection of imported and domestically manufactured products is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2027. For certain products with amended inspection standards, the previous standards will cease to apply from the same date.

Existing certificates issued under the previous inspection standards may remain valid until their respective expiry dates. New applications and extensions submitted from July 1, 2027, must provide documentation demonstrating compliance with the updated applicable standards.
