IFT postpones the publication of NOM-001-SCFI-2018
As published in April 2020, NYCE announced the issuance of the new regulation NOM-001-SCFI-2018 which should have been published on May 15. This regulation will cancel NOM-001-SCFI-1993.
IFT has now announced a postponement of the regelation in their Diario Oficial de la Federación, so it will come into force on August 14.
NOM-001-SCFI-1993 usually requires more than 30 accredited Certification Bodies. The current situation leads to a reduced capability which results in only 18% of the usual amount of CB.
By postponing the announcement, Certification Bodies have a longer period to accredit themselves in order to adequately meet the requirements for local testing and certification services.
