India: 77 – 81 Ghz Radar Type Approval Now Possible
India’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has opened the 77–81 GHz frequency range for radar use under notification G.S.R. 468(E).
The notification was issued on June 11, 2026, and entered into force upon publication in the Official Gazette.
The notification permits type approval of 77–81 GHz radars as unlicensed equipment, provided the devices comply with the technical specifications outlined in Section 4(2).
