Japan expands the permitted frequency band for TPMS and RKE systems to 433.05–434.79 MHz. Adoption is planned for June 2026.

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has notified a partial amendment under reference G/TBT/N/JPN/840, relevant for Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems.

The amendment to the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Radio Act and related public notices introduces the following changes:

  • The frequency band for TPMS and RKE systems will be expanded to 433.05–434.79 MHz.

  • Previous requirements imposed on the equipment enclosure will be eliminated under the new Regulation for Radio Equipment and the relevant Public Notice.
