New NOM requirements - UPDATE of certificates necessary
Based on to the publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) by the Ministry of Economy (SE) October 23, 2018 and the respective extension as of February 28, 2019 (which modifies the Rules and General Criteria in matters of Foreign Trade) the following is valid:
The new regulations state the certification of products for NOM Safety or more precisely, the changes in the rules for the entry of these products into Mexico.
Starting from June 3, 2019 (according to the attached statement of the SE), all certificates which are presented at customs must also include the Mexican HS code assigned by the customs agent in charge of processing the release of their shipment. Certificates which do not have the HS Code cannot be used for the release of products.
