NBTC is gathering input from interested stakeholders on the planned revision of health and safety regulations.

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has approved revisions to its draft announcements on human health safety standards for radiocommunication equipment. During its 34th/2025 meeting in November 2025, the NBTC finalized technical updates to radiation exposure safety standards.

Key revisions include:

  • Updated definitions aligned with ICNIRP 2010 and ICNIRP 2020 guidelines

  • Expanded operating frequency scope from 9 kHz–300 GHz to 8.3 kHz–300 GHz, to comply with the Thailand National Frequency Allocation Table (2024)

  • Revised electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure limits for all radiocommunication equipment

  • New provisions addressing simultaneous exposure from multiple sources

The NBTC Office has initiated a public consultation period from July 15, 2026 to September 14, 2026, inviting stakeholders and the general public to submit written comments via email to phannipong.t@nbtc.go.th.

A public hearing is scheduled for September 8, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the NBTC Office in Bangkok, with both on-site and online attendance options available. Registration for the hearing closes on September 4, 2026.
