Regulatory Compliance & Performance Testing

RF Expertise & Wireless Technologies

IB-Lenhardt AG provides accredited radio frequency testing in ISO/IEC 17025 environments, delivering internationally recognized conformity assessment. Our laboratories cover all relevant frequency bands up to 500 GHz and support both regulatory approval and performance validation.

We measure and analyze RF signals across a wide range of wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi / WLAN, Bluetooth, cellular systems, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), radar sensors, GNSS receivers, wireless power transmission, and DAB/DVB.

Beyond regulatory testing, we also qualify devices under private industry schemes such as Bluetooth® SIG, NFC Forum, and the Qi / Wireless Power Consortium.

Certification Scope

Our RF testing supports conformity assessment under major international radio regulations. We evaluate all essential RF parameters and regulatory requirements needed for CE (EU RED), FCC, ISED, MIC, and more than 200 additional global markets. These requirements apply to telecommunications equipment and wireless communication devices.

Regulatory Frameworks

  • EU Radio Equipment Directive (RED)
  • FCC Part 15 and US authorization rules
  • ISED Canada Radio Standards
  • Japanese Radio Law
  • Additional regional requirements across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC

RF Compliance Parameters

  • Transmit power, power levels, and spectral usage
  • Occupied bandwidth (OBW)
  • Spurious emissions and unwanted radiation
  • Duty-cycle and spectrum access limits
  • Harmonized or local spectrum requirements

Approval Pathways

  • EU Declaration of Conformity under RED
  • FCC Certification via TCB
  • ISED Certification via FCB
  • MIC Certification via RCB
  • Additional authorization schemes for 200+ jurisdictions

The combination of regulatory frameworks, RF compliance parameters, and approval pathways forms the basis for applying the correct radio standards. Key standards for wireless devices are outlined in the Standards section and further explained in our Knowledge Base.

RF Test Laboratory

Our laboratory infrastructure supports accredited RF testing across the full frequency range relevant to modern wireless devices, using calibrated test equipment.

Core Capabilities:

  • Semi-anechoic chambers for radiated RF measurements

  • Conducted RF setups for wideband and narrowband technologies

  • Signal analyzers and vector signal generators up to 500 GHz

  • Shielded rooms for sensitive receiver and coexistence testing

  • Automated test systems for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, radar and GNSS

All measurements are performed using ISO/IEC 17025–compliant procedures. We also support EMI and EMC testing for devices requiring broader electromagnetic compatibility assessment.

Radar Performance Testing

Radar performance testing extends the regulatory RF scope with application-specific measurements for automotive and industrial radar systems. These evaluations ensure reliable sensor operation under real-world conditions and verify both functional and regulatory performance requirements in diverse RF environments.

Radar-Specific Test Capabilities

  • 3D antenna and radiation pattern measurements

  • Radar echo simulation across distance and velocity scenarios

  • Output power and waveform verification for radar transmitters

  • Receiver robustness testing under in-band and out-of-band interference

  • Radome characterization, including EIRP comparison with and without radome

These performance tests are particularly relevant for advanced driver assistance systems and industrial sensing applications, ensuring reliable radar operation in safety-critical environments.
