ISED Seeks Feedback on Technical Requirements for Non-Competitive Local Licensed Services in the 3900-3980 MHz Band.

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is inviting comments on the consultation of SRSP-521 issue 1, which outlines the technical requirements for non-competitive local licensed services in the band 3900-3980 MHz. This standard applies to fixed and mobile systems, including flexible use broadband systems operating in the specified band.

SRSP-521 has been developed in accordance with the Decision on a Non-Competitive Local Licensing Framework, Including Spectrum in the 3900-3980 MHz Band and Portions of the 26, 28, and 38 GHz Bands (SPB-001-23). It is designed to ensure the efficient use of the allocated spectrum for non-competitive local licensed services.

The consultation of SRSP-521 accompanies the introduction of the new RSS-198 Issue 1, which pertains to flexible use broadband equipment operating in the band 3900-3980 MHz.

Interested stakeholders are encouraged to provide their comments and feedback on the proposed technical requirements outlined in SRSP-521. The deadline for submitting comments is September 8, 2023.
