  • IndonesiaResult of Public Exposure to draft of Revision PP No. 80 Year 20

    Crucial outcomes of public exposure to draft revision to Government Regulation No. 80 of 2015

    • The cost for testing will increase

    • Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA): Test Report Recognition will be regulated in a separate convention

    • Inputs and suggestions regarding the revised Draft of the Government Regulation can be submitted in writing to: Sekretaris Jenderal Kementerian Kominfo with a copy to Dirjen Anggaran Kementerian Keuangan or by e-mail to: tu.setjen@kominfo.go.id and CC to pusatlayanan.dja@kemenkeu.go.id, not later than January, 20th 2022

    • Estimated Revision of Government Regulation (PP) No. 80 of 2015 will be released not later than the end of 2022


  • New ZealandPublic Consultation on Draft Five Year Spectrum Outlook

    In December 2021, the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment (MBIE) opened the public consultation on the radio frequency spectrum outlook 2022 to 2026.

    Interested stakeholders are invited to submit their feedback by 5 PM on February, 28, 2022, preferably by e-mail to Radio.Spectrum@mbie.govt.nz.

    Local test labs are closed from 29 Januar until 6 February, due to Chinese New Year festivities. Slight delays might occur.


  • South AfricaAmendment of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Regulations 2015

    As IB-Lenhardt informed on 2019-08-06, the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), opened a public consultation on the planned amendments of Annexure B - Radio Apparatus exempt from radio frequency spectrum licences - of the Radio Frequency Spectrum Regulations, 2015.

    After reviewing written submissions from interested stakeholders ICASA amended Annexure B, which contains information such as maximum radiated power, field strength or sensitivity limits and relevant test standards for various types of equipment.

    The updated regulations came into force after being published in the Government Gazette on 2021-12-24.

  • Saudi ArabiaSASO revised RoHS requirement implementation date

    The "Technical Regulation for Restriction of hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment" published by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) on 2021-07-09 was originally scheduled to take effect on 2022-01-05.

    However, SASO has decided to postpone the implementation date for various types of equipment as described in the table.

    1. Home appliances

    Small appliances: 2022-07-04

    Large appliances: 2022-10-02

    2. Telecommunication and information technology equipment 2022-12-31
    3. Lighting equipment 2023-03-31
    4. Electrical and electronic equipment and tools 2023-06-29
    5. Toys and entertainment tools and appliances, sports equipment 2023-09-27
    6. Tools for monitoring and control
